  If you are contemplating visiting this doctor's office, DON'T. Reach deep into your pockets and think long and hard before coming here. In short, from my dealings with this doctor, Dr. Joon Lee is only interested in the money and not her patients. She charges an exorbitant amount for the initial consultation only for her to tell you that she recommends you pay to "join" various Functional Medicine Programs she offers. She charges a minimum of $500 for each "program" you partake in, which consists of a blood or urine analysis (which you still have to pay an external lab to run) and only one office visit to review those results. During the subsequent office visit, she quickly reviews the test results within a matter of minutes, and finishes with a rehearsed script, rattling off a list of therapies, supplements, and the next "program" you must join. Nothing personalized, just a menu of programs she can offer and bill you for. How convenient that she offers those supplements and services at a premium. Non of her services are billable to the insurance (according to her), but she had no qualms about billing my insurance for a full office visit for a 5 minute phone call regarding a prescription. She had the gall to send bill after bill charging me $17 for the remainder of what the insurance did not cover. During my infamous last visit, she began and ended a consult for a Heavy Metal test in 10-minutes flat. In short, only one 10 minute office visit cost me $500. She quickly started to check the results of a blood work that I brought in, but two pages in, she quickly change the direction of the visit. She refused to read the results until she knew she would be paid for another visit. (I had done this test called an ION test through my General Practitioner closer to my home only on her recommendation.) She begins to say, "Since, I had not joined this specific program, she needed to reimbursed for her time to read the blood work... she could not take responsibility to read a test run by another doctor...her services amounted to $500/hour... she didn't know how long it would take to read the blood work." Just a bunch of excuses to be paid for another visit. What doctor would not read lab results already in front of her to help a patient? Shocked and appalled at her money hungry attitude, I thanked her for the Heavy Metal consult with lasted only 10-minutes and cost me $500. I told her that since we were done here, she will never see my face again. I WALKED OUT.

  Please be aware of supplement sales during a physical (sales are final and they charge 20% for restocking). This is different than other family doctor practices I have experienced.
